I Miss Ps

Ps = Passion = Photoshop < Programming

Assalamualaikum. Peace be upon you.

Its been a long time since the last time I wrote a blog post from my own mind in English. It also a very long time since the last time I play around with Ps (Photoshop). I miss it when I saw my previous works in making forum avatars and signatures.

In the past, I was someone that is really far away from Islam, my way of life. I was among those people that have it just in name in the identification card (MyKad). I am so shameful with myself that spend less time in reading Quran, even trying to avoid it as if avoiding big fire.

During that Dark Age, I found Photoshop. This experiences came from an awe feeling with a friend in an anime forum that can do many things, such as graphic design (forum signature and avatar), debating, art (in the theater thingy) and engineering (building technical items needed for the theater). "Wow", I thought. So I get myself into it.

As a quite slow learner and lack creativity, it takes me quite a while to learn it. Starting from hue/saturation adjustment layers, I learnt one by one skills in Ps. On that time, the most advanced version is CS3, but I was and still using CS2. I guess I am the old type of people, don't really like to change. Some of the design is really beautiful, those were the ones I saw just now that made me miss Ps.

When finally reached UiTM as a Computer Science Diploma student, I started to lose time in making my little graphic design. Especially when I started coming closer to Islam, to making it my way of life, not just in name. Praise be to Allah, for giving my hope and guidance to current state. Also thanks to Prophet Muhammad p.b.u.h. And my parents, and family, and my degree seniors that already graduated from UiTM Samarahan and doing dakwah to me.

I want to do Ps again. I miss it. Less than mosque, programming and reading.

But, this job is more important. The job of the prophets that was passed down from this companions, until my seniors, until it reached me. The job of spreading the knowledge about Islam. I am thinking, "How am I going to make my passion in Ps one of the tools to spread knowledge about Islam?"

...ah. I see.

O Allah. Please help me in this.

There is no need for me to sacrifice my passion. I just need to redirect(PS) to my current job as one of its methods. :) Now, I just need to repair my laptop.  XD
